If I understand correctly, in order to keep a player on minor league roster going into the draft, he must have had fewer than 130 ABs or 50 IP in 2007, right?

That's my understanding too.

Yes...he can be "kept" as a minor leaguer (like i did with Upton and Butler) at the end of the year they reach those milestones...but going into the draft, they will replace my final two MLB draft picks as i will not be able to keep them on my minor league roster any longer.
This means that I will be going into the minor league draft having kept 2, but with 0 players on my minors roster, so the supplemental rounds will continue as normal, but i'll need 2 extra picks at the end for the players i had to move to the MLB roster. I guess the important this is that at the end of both drafts, we make sure everyone has the same number of players.

this seems like quite the advantage should they not qualify as minor leaguers because they surpassed the threshold if a team can still keep them as minor leaguers should they not lose there 1st 2 picks in the draft and make up at the end i disagree with below Yes...he can be "kept" as a minor leaguer (like i did with Upton and Butler) at the end of the year they reach those milestones...but going into the draft, they will replace my final two MLB draft picks as i will not be able to keep them on my minor league roster any longer. This is what we agreed on when we started. If your minor leaguers do well then you should get an advantage for drafting well.

This is my understanding also. If your minors perform well, you should have this reward for good scouting. Looking forward to the draft. Looks like this will be a great bunch of owners and a great league.

That's how i see it too...like in the case of Butler and Upton, they were both solid picks in my minors draft last year, but they are still raw and won't contribute greatly this year. If i had to keep them as MLB i probably wouldn't have, there are VERY few players that would be kept as rookies, especially with teams bringing them up at 20-21 years old. Braun and Tulo are a couple of exceptions. But overall i think that adds to the payoff of a good prospects draft, then after their rookie season one has to decide if they are worthy of an MLB keeper spot or to try and regain them in the regular draft. Plus, as they said, this is what we agreed on in the begginning...no going back now. I'm looking forward to starting prep for the draft, seems to make baseball season roll around that much quicker....

Does this mean that Braun could have been kept on my minor league list going into the draft? Sorry, I'm having a tough time getting my head around this rule.
