Moonshiners trades Justin Upton, Billy Butler, 1st Round Minors Pick....to Bye Week for Miguel Cabrera, Carlos Carrasco
Since the keepers have been finalized the year, the trade will not be actually "processed" until draft time...however I'll add the new aquisitions to the bottom of the draft table for tracking purposes before then.

Did i post that or send it in an email, I couldn't find it? I never put it in the constitution I guess...After we agreed on the trade, I figured it would be best to go ahead and put it through , mainly b/c if I waited until after the draft, our rosters would be off at the end of both drafts...i didn't think about that before. This way i could fill out the spreadsheet so we know how many we're needing to draft. Kind of makes it easier for me.
But technically, the trade isn't processed until "after" the draft...as the keeper numbers for both of us don't change...as i mentioned in the post. I'm putting them in the spreadsheet as placeholders. In that email or whatever it was, the point is that you can't trade a keeper and have that affect the draft.
So, anyway, if anyone wants to trade i see no reason not to allow it, just know it won't affect the draft at all. Those keepers are set. Does that sound alright?
Sorry if i contradicted myself, didn't mean to do that...I actually meant to post about this same subject a few weeks ago after talking with O's, but had to leave town for Turkey Day and spaced it. Hopefully most everything is covered in the constitution...if not please let me know.

Just go ahead a put it through now. The only problem I see is Stew being short a minor leaguer. But, he could always pick one up off the FA wire after the draft.
Any additional trades I think should be allowed and processed after people have had a day or two to look at the trade proposal.
However, if draft picks are involved the easiest way is to swap picks. Example: I give you my first round pick you give me your last round pick or anything in between, this way all rosters are full after the draft instead of people being short players.
Make sense?
Actually after looking at this trade a little closer...
Stew would be at 5 MLB Keepers.
Is it fair that he has 5 MLB Keepers and gets to draft in the 1st Supplemental round???
I'm not sure about this.
Should Stew have to drop one of his Keepers?
or
Does this trade get pushed through after the draft like you guys are saying?

I say just let the trade be finalized after the draft but put the place holders on the chart so we know what is happening.

That's why i was thinking it is actually "processed" per say, after the draft.....I'll just do like i did on the draft sheet and put them as placeholders for this and any other trades. So basically, Cabrera is still being kept by Bye Week, however he is being instantly transferred to my team after the draft, so he is a placeholder as my last pick.
You'll see i did kind of the same kind of thing with the minor leaguers that have to be transferred to the MLB roster...posting them as placeholders so we all end up with a 25 man MLB and 6 man minor league roster. Hopefully i did it all correctly.

Seems like this should work out. It's got my go ahead. (Can't wait to our league draft. My other league is not nearly this active in the off season. )

Let's hope it stays that way....i think if a manager slacks and doesn't put in his pitchers, etc we just take a vote to replace them or not.
Also, i think the league needs to be flexible with tweaking the rules as we go along if problems arise. If anyone sees anything in the constitution that isn't clear or whatever let me know.

I don't have much of a problem with it, just needs to be documented consistently. I was pushing to get a trade done before the keeper freeze date based on the email that went out, and then it turns out that there really wasn't a deadline. No biggie. But, if that's gonna slide, I'll make an official request to add Braun back to my MiLB roster, which I (due to ignorance) didn't do in time. EDIT: My wink ^ is a cry. Appears that some of the icons don't quite match their shortcut keys.
